This January transfer window proves to be a time of feverish speculation and possible major deals. Several high-profile stars are being linked with moves out of their current clubs. Here is a look at a selection of the major figures who are poised to be on the move in January.

A. Semenyo

This England centre-back has continued to excel for Crystal Palace despite a summer move to Liverpool collapsing. Brennan Johnson

This Welsh winger has found starting minutes limited at Tottenham this campaign. Despite finishing as the side's top scorer the previous campaign, Johnson has started only a handful of Premier League matches. Reports suggest the North London outfit is open to a transfer for the correct price, thought to be in the around £40 million. Bournemouth appear to be leading the chase, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also showing an inquiry.

The Portugal playmaker could be set for a return to the English top flight after a spell in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, there have been suggestions from Spain that he would be willing to accept a pay cut for a move to Real Madrid.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This veteran Germany goalkeeper is now as third-choice at Barcelona under the manager Flick. After fallen out of favour and had surgery, a January departure seems increasingly probable. Villa were once linked as a potential destination, but that option currently seems unlikely. Instead, interest from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly expressing curiosity in the 33-year-old.

Following impressing at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has become a regular in the AZ Alkmaar first team. The teenager is heavily expected to make a major move in January.
